mindVan ourDB is a database/app design platform where we can:

STEPS to ourDB

1. CREATE databases

Create a new database, give it a name and define its columns, and turn the database ON demo +

Input data - Go into the database and start entering records to the database
Upload data - Or enter a number of records by importing CSV (comma separated version) file demo +
Edit, delete data - Select and edit a record, and then save it. Or select and delete a record, or delete a number records each time demo +
Query data - Quick search records on all database tables or on a specific table. Run a select query with specific criteria or with one or more parameters. And save it for repetitive use demo +

3. SHARE databases

Assign permission - Assign different permissions to another user (e.g. assign "Browse", "Query" and "Add" permissions), and then copy the link of the database and send it to the user demo +
Share and collaborate - Having got the link to the database, the user with the permissions, after successful login, can start browsing the data and entering new records. The user will not be able to execute any actions without relevant permissions demo +

4. BUILD QuickApp

Want to turn the database into an app? The simplest way is to build QuickApp. QuickApp is like a workspace where the shortcuts to database tables and saved queries are stored demo +

5. SHARE the app

Any users who have the right to access the QuickApp can see the boxes representing different database tables or saved queries. Having the permissions, the users can manage datasets like records browsing, querying, adding/editing/deleting demo +

1. ACTIVATE pre-built apps

  • ourInvoice invoicing system with inventory control
  • ourBook double-entry accounting system
  • ourEvent members/activities management
  • ourVote online survey builder
  • ourPost social-network-like updates sharing site
  • ourCart Paypal-enabled online shop
  • ourLabel portal with parallax layout
  • ourCircle blog for non-government organizations
  • ourPicRoll curating contents with images
  • ourPicons photos sharing system
  • ourWeb site for SME to spreading their ideas
  • ourSite slide-show-enabled site
  • ourPage blog for sharing opinions
  • ourEDM email-marketing tool
  • ... and more...

2. RUN the app

Click any one of the pre-built apps on the right, and the app is just right there (e.g. let's activate the online shop app ourCart) demo +

3. CUSTOMIZE databases/Appages

Simple customization - Using the pre-built app as a base, change the basic settings of the app e.g. change the app name or change the background color. For most pre-built apps, owners can manage a user database table about the app's style. Refer to the 'Demo/Note' abouthow to change those settings demo +
Advanced customization - change database structure - Sometimes more complicated changes are necessary. For example, one more column is needed to present more information inside an app demo +
Advanced customization - change Appage - Appages are a set of HTML files where tag-like controls are used to tell ourDB how to interpret and present the data inside database tables. To match with the changes in a database, most of the time Appages have to be changed, too. So, download the Appage HTML file, open it with any text editor, modify the corresponding Appage controls, save it, and then upload it to ourDB again. Then run the app to show the changes demo +

4. RUN the new app

Help on using Appage - The above are just an example. To know more about Appage and how to use it, refer to the online help demo +
