1. Activate ourPOS: After signing up as an ourDB member, log in the platform and click the app icon for ourPOS [demo -]
2. Housekeep Demo Data: ourPOS comes with some sample data. To start the app with a totally new environment, go back to ourDB administration workspace, and then "truncate" the data, or delete the records inside the database [demo +]
3. Manage Stock Items: To start POS operation, first make sure stock items information is ready - go add, edit or delete "Items" master records [demo +]
4. Goods Receiving: To get the benefit of ourPOS inventory control feature, next is to issue goods receiving order. After saving the order line items, the on-hand quantities of respective stock items will be updated [demo +]
5. Issuing Sales Invoice: Most of the daily operations of a POS shop are issuing sales invoices. Issuing invoices in ourPOS will automatically deduct on-hand quantities of respective items, and calculate the cost of goods sold (and hence the profit margin) for each transaction. Shop can also enter as many payments as customers require, and lastly print out and pass sales receipts to them [demo +]
6. Member Management and Marketing Campaign: ourPOS incorporates an member-item discount matrix feature - suppose there is a marketing campaign for offering special discounts to VIP. Then shop can set up a promotion entry i.e. effective promotion period, discount type, discount value, customer group and item category. So when an eligible customer buys an item within the promotion period, then ourPOS can automatically return the special discount for that customer. This way front-end staff can focus on selling products to customers, and have no need to memorize the promotion rules [demo +]
7. Report and Find Transactions: ourPOS comes with simple report and query features e.g. search for specific stock item, look for items added or modified in a month; find sales invoices issued from a specific date, query invoices with grand total larger than an amount; see how many times a member has ever shopped and browse a specific invoice; get a journal listing for all the relevant transactions related to a stock item [demo +]
